Oldfield Primary School

A community of proud and resilient children who are learning to take their place in the world.

Year 5

We're looking forward to the year ahead with lots of exciting learning across the curriculum and supporting children in becoming independent learners.  We will be participating in many practical activities in Science learning about the Vikings in History and lots more. The highlight of the year is our residential PGL trip to Osmington Bay in the Summer term.

Please make sure your child reads every evening and is confident in their times tables.  Please see the termly curriculum maps for more information about learning in Year 5.

Mrs Stemp (Y5O Monday - Thursday)

This is my tenth year of teaching and I have worked in three different schools across west London.   I have worked in both KS1 and KS2 and this is my 3rd year in Year 5. Previous to teaching, I worked for a magazine in the cookery department and as a sub-editor. After having children I did a degree in Primary Education at Roehampton University.  I particularly enjoy using the outside area to enhance the children’s learning.

Mrs Harriott (Y5O Friday)

I completed my masters in Anthropology of Childhood, Youth and Education in October 2012. I then started teaching in Oldfield, January 2013 and have never looked back. During my time at Oldfield, I have got married and now I have two amazing girls. My passion is teaching and I love to share this with every child I have the pleasure of educating.

Ms Franey (Y5L Monday - Tuesday)

I started teaching nearly 20 years ago after completing a BA Honours with QTS Honours in Physical Education. I have taught in several schools throughout Ealing and Hillingdon, in both mainstream and specialist education. I started Oldfield Primary in 2016 as Special Education Needs Coordinator (SENDco), and this year I am delighted to be part of the year 5 team. I am looking forward to making a difference.

Mrs Tranter (Y5L Wednesday - Friday)

I studied Italian at London University, during my degree I had the opportunity to teach English as a foreign language. After graduating from University and obtaining a Masters in Marketing, I worked in Marketing for 10 years before deciding to switch into teaching.  I have always wanted to be a teacher and with 2 young children decided to do the PGCE.  I have been at Oldfield Primary School for 9 years and am completely passionate about teaching. I have taught across year groups in KS2 and had different roles of responsibility.  I am very excited to be teaching Year 5, I am currently the Year 5 & 6 Phase Leader, English Co-Leader and Music Leader.
